Potion: How to Play
In The Potion players are competing to be the alchemist with only one type of ingredient left in their possession!
The Set Up should look something like this:Players have 2 tokens of each ingredient with the extras set aside and the empty bottle is in the middle of the able. Players place all of their ingredients in the palm of one of their hands, hidden from the other players.
At the start of each ground a player will roll the dice to determine the ingredient the players will be bidding on. After considering the roll, players secretly choose one ingredient from their filled ingredient hand and place it into their other empty hand. Once everyone has made their choice, the selected ingredients are revealed!
For example, if the dice are rolled and there are 2 beetles and 1 mushroom, and in their hands players have put out two beetles, a mushroom and a green vial, then the two beetles and the mushroom will go back in the bottle while the green vial will remain and go back to that players ingredient hand. It absolutely has to match exactly though. If there were 2 green vials on the dice but only one present on the board, that would not fulfill a dice requirement.
With that said, the players may also bet against the other players. If a player has revealed an ingredient that does not appear on the face of any dice, and none of the ingredients revealed by the other players meet a winning condition, then the player who revealed the ingredient that did not appear on the die may discard their ingredients into the bottle.
But thats not all! If the results of the round is that all players meet the conditions set by the dice then NO ONE gets the discard their ingredients and a new round starts passing the dice clockwise.
Compare the type and quality of the ingredients revealed with the result of the dice roll. Players who meet the winning conditions set by the dice may discard their ingredient and place it into the bottle. The players who did not meet the winning condition keep their ingredients and then the turn is passed clockwise to the next player.
The first player to have only one type of ingredient left reveals their remaining tokens and they are declared the winner!
