Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: How to Play
To set up the game put the board in the center of the table and then place the card organized board next to it! Shuffle the action cards and put them next to it as well! Then reveal 3 cards on their designated spaces! Place the dog in the starting square of the bark track. Then place 15 chickens per player in the coop area on the board. For a two player game remove the Pass bags left or right as well as the cluck off/dance party cards. These cards allow the player who purchases the card to judge a chicken clucking or chicken dance contest and there’s a winner and a loser. The whole thing is so fowl but with two players this mechanic doesn’t work so cluck it out the window. Next you’ll want to put the bonus hunt dice in the designated area and give each player 1 bag, a fox character card and 2 chicken tokens. Then ask your table who had eaten chicken the most recently. This is the starting player and they’ll take the 6 hunting dice and begin the game!
On their turn each player will roll their hunt dice! If they don’t love the results they may re-roll any non-dog dice if they choose to and can repeat this action up to a total of 2 rerolls!
What do these Dice sides mean or do? Well. The Fox will allow the player to purchase cards. Cards have a cost of 1-3 foxes based on their slot locations! The player must pay the number of fox dice necessary in order to purchase the card based on its location and cost.
The Dogs can not be rerolled and are frozen dice. Rolling two dogs will allow the player to choose another player to lose a chicken to the coop. The dogs however will allow the player to steal the chicken themselves instead of sending it to the coop!
The Chickens rolled will allow the player to stela one chicken from the coop and place it in the bag. If its a 2x Chicken then they can steal two!
The Drumstick face means that if the player has two matching drumsticks they can cook one chicken from their bag. They can remove it and place it with the dinner side up on their player card. If they have the 2x Legs and watch two of these, they can do this with two.
Then they can take a number of actions in any order must each must be fully completed before they can do the next!
Move the dog bark track
Move the chickens from the coop to their bag using the chicken dice facings!
Purchase cards using the Fox Dice Facings
Move chicken tokens from the bag to dinner side up using the chicken drumstick facings.
Any time during their turn the player may resolve fox cards purchased when it makes sense to do so!
Then they’ll pass the hunt dice to the next player clockwise and if any cards are purchased, at the end of the players turn, all cards shift to become cheaper and the new cards are revealed at the 3 cost level!
The game can end one of several ways! If the dog bark tracker ever reaches the final space, 20 for 2 players, 30 for 3 and 40 for 4, then the game ends immediately. If there are no more chickens left to take back from the coop then the game also ends immediately!
The winner of the game is the player with the most victory points at the end of the game! Each player score 2 VP per Dinner token and 1 VP for each chicken in their bag! If there’s a tie then the player with the most Dinner tokens wins the game!
And that's how you play winner winner chicken dinner!
