Mystery of the Temples

Mystery of the Temples is a beautiful game with intricate and deep gameplay in a very small box. 

In Mystery of the Temples, you and up to 3 opponents take on the roles of the brave adventurers known as Curse Breakers, traveling through the wilderness collecting powerful crystals. You’ll use these crystals to break the dark curses on the 5 gorgeous temples, unlocking the power of the runes hidden within them.

You will travel between the wilderness and temples on a circular board to collect, trade, and use crystals of various colors. Different cards within the board will grant you different abilities, and some will even grant you bonuses, if you have the matching rune.

Each turn, you will move 1 to 3 spaces clockwise around the board, skipping any locations your opponents are on. You also skip locations that are the opposite type of your stopping location – if moving to a wilderness card, skip all Temples; if moving to a Temple, skip all wilderness cards.The majority of locations you visit will allow you to gain crystals of the color specified on that location. Other locations will allow you to spend crystals to gain different ones. Whenever you gain crystals, you add them to your Crystal Grid to create crystal chains that match the color pattern of the curses on the temples.

 Once you have enough crystals, you move your character to a temple, expend your crystals in the correct order and break a curse, scoring points and gaining a powerful rune to enhance your actions!

You’ll be able to use those runes, along with special abilities, and varying player powers to perform strong combo actions collecting more crystals and breaking harder curses!The game ends after one player has broken 5 curses. You’ll score bonuses for collecting runes and completing temple objective cards. The player with the most points will be the greatest curse breaker the magic academy has ever seen! 

The game plays and flows incredibly well. The simplicity of moving your curse breaker to perform actions is paired beautifully with the depth of strategy, options, and unique powers each player has. We’re certain this game will be a huge hit when it lands on your table.
