Game of Phones: How to Play

Don’t you hate it when you go to a party and everyone is staring at their phones? Game of Phones is a great way to integrate the phone addiction into a fun party game for everyone. Now here’s the catch, what you have on your phone is going to be shared with everyone in the game, so prepare to be judged. 

To set up the game simply shuffle the deck and get your smart phones out then select an influencer! They are the person at the table who most recently received a text.

The influencer pulls a card that is shown to everyone. Each player will answer the card by getting their phones out and following the instructions of the card. In order to win, you must have collected 5 winning cards of the rounds. 

There are 4 different challenge types that decide the winner to each round.

The “Like” challenge is where the players answer the card based on what the influencer will like the most. When everyone is ready they put their phones face down in the center of the table and when they are ready they reveal their responses. The influencer picks the one they like the most.

The “unfollow” challenge is where each player answers a card and the players decide which to eliminate. When everyone is ready each player turns over their phone and then starting to the left of the influencer moving clockwise, each person eliminates a response by turning a phone face down and saying, “unfollow”. The last phone standing is the winner of the round!

The “Download” challenge is a lightning round where the response must be quick. Each person responds to the round by placing their phone face down. When everyone is ready each person turns of their phone and reveals their response. The influencer will participate and the winner is clear. 

The “upgrade” challenge is a bonus round and has no immediate winner. Rather the card will be added as an upgrade for the winner of the next round providing a bonus point toward the 5 point win!

Each card will include different activities where you will need your smartphone including things like searching memes,

 posting to social media,

 Texting,

 taking selfies,

 revealing the apps you use

 and more. 

Game of Phones is for ages 13 and up, plays 3 or more players and takes 30-90 minutes to play. The game will come with the 100 card starter pack and the original 50 cards from the first launch. There will also be options for expansions that will fit perfectly in the original box. The expansion Offline Pack is for you to be able to play the game without a data connection like if your camping or travelling internationally.  

One of the coolest features is that to play this game; you don’t need to download a new app; just use whatever is already on your phone. The box is compact so you can grab the game to play on the go.
